2025 Update

Time flies when you’re having fun! It is hard to believe that 40 years have passed since we opened the Prairie Pedlar in our backyard in 1985. Ten years later we moved ¾ mile down the road to our present location, and we haven’t looked back! We will spend this growing season reminiscing, celebrating accomplishments, and always plotting new ways to grow!

One big change for 2025, is the relocation of the Garden Folly. For more than 20 years, the folly was nestled at the north edge of the garden but it’s on the move in April. We will breathe new life into the old granary as it becomes situated in the tulip patch north of the country schoolhouse. This shady spot will allow brides and their wedding parties to utilize the charming retreat prior to ceremony starts. We hope garden clubs, circles of friends, and small groups will want to use it too!

As we reflect back on 4 decades of fun events, we’ve decided to revive a few of our favorite Prairie Pedlar events! We are adding an afternoon of the Maypole Dancing on May 4th. Come and watch performers weave the Maypole with colorful ribbons and even participate in this time honored rite of Spring yourself! We will also officially celebrate our 40th birthday on Sunday, August 3rd with the ever popular Moonlight Garden Party. See more details on the Events link.
